About Us
The Hospital Authority (HA) is responsible for managing Hong Kong's public hospital services. We provide acute, convalescent, rehabilitation and community healthcare services through a wide range of facilities. These include:

  • 43 public hospitals and institutions
  • 49 Specialist Out-patient Clinics
  • 74 General Out-patient Clinics
Our facilities comprise a total of around 3.1 million square metres floor space in over 300 buildings, ranging from new facilities designed specifically for modern healthcare, to premises which can trace their roots back over one hundred years.

We are carrying out a series of hospital development projects, including:
  • New Acute Hospital at Kai Tak Development Area;
  • Expansion of Operating Theatre Block of Tuen Mun Hospital, Haven of Hope Hospital, United Christian Hospital, Lai King Building in Princess Margaret Hospital and North District Hospital;
  • Redevelopment of Kwai Chung Hospital, Kwong Wah Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital, Grantham Hospital and Queen Mary Hospital.

In addition, the Hong Kong Government approved in 2013 a one-off grant of HK$13 billion to HA for carrying out minor improvement works and regular maintenance in the next 10 years.

Overall, the design of our future hospitals and clinics is based on a people-first philosophy. Besides adequate space to address the needs of patients and staff, floor plans are also improved to enhance the service delivery process and patient flow. We are also committed to providing barrier-free access to our facilities as well as embracing a sustainable design concept to protect the environment.
