Minor Works
In 2013, the Hong Kong Government approved a one-off grant of $13 billion to allow more flexible planning for HA to carry out minor works projects in the next 10 years, covering five programmes, namely, facility rejuvenation, capacity enhancement, safe engineering, barrier-free access improvement, and regular maintenance / minor works and preparatory works for major capital projects. Over 5,000 projects have been initiated using the one-off grant to improve and maintain hospital facilities for effective patient care.

As HA will continue to have practical and compelling need for the implementation of minor works, a new funding of $8 billion was approved by the Hong Kong Government in 2024 to provide HA with sufficient resources to plan flexibly and implement intensive works programmes, including a series of improvement works of hospitals, scheduled maintenance / minor works and preparatory works for major capital works projects, for about five years starting from 2024-25. It is estimated that a total of around 2,200 projects will be carried out using the provision of funding.
