The building facade is composed of various high quality glazed wall integrated with sun shading devices. Low emissivity glass is used to minimise solar heat gain and therefore reducing the demand on central cooling load. It also allows a high level of sunlight penetration which helps to save energy.

Being a green hospital, the roof of the new block, terraces and courtyard have landscaped areas to maximise the greenery coverage.

Solar water heating and solar photovoltaic panels are installed on the rooftop to provide renewable energy. The power consumption of the central air conditioning system using energy efficient chillers can be reduced by 20%-30%.
