Redesigned Registration Office and Pharmacy

The GOPC registration office and the pharmacy were located at the same area in the past and they shared the same waiting area. Part of the waiting area was located at the open space next to the entrance of the block without provision of air-conditioning.

The new building provides separated indoor air-conditioned waiting areas for both units in an indoor air-conditioned area with adequate space to accommodate more patients during the peak hours.

Enlarged waiting space in Specialised Outpatient Clinic (SOPC)

The space in the SOPC waiting area was limited and always crowded in the past.

The new SOPC waiting area provides a more spacious and comfortable environment for patients and their relatives.

Improved Consultation Rooms for Better Service

In the past, the outpatient clinics were seriously overcrowded and doctors had to share consultation rooms.

The consultation rooms in the new buildings are more spacious and the design also facilitates smoother clinical process.

Back corridor for staff, fast and efficient

The back corridors are designed to facilitate staff's back-of-house operations in a more efficient manner. The new clutter-free back corridor also promotes occupational safety for staff.

Enhancement of Chinese Medicine Service

The Chinese Medicine Clinic was very congested in the past, while equipment was aged and inadequate.

In the new Centre, the clinic environment has largely been improved with new and adequate equipment to meet the operational needs, including the increase of:
  • Modernised herbal decocting and packing machines
  • Consultation station and treatment bed for acupuncture service
