Currently, the Hospital Authority (HA) operates six general outpatient clinics (GOPCs) in Sham Shui Po District to provide public primary healthcare services for local residents. The existing GOPCs are inadequate to meet the service demand in terms of spatial or functional design. As such, the HA plans to reprovision the GOPC at the existing Shek Kip Mei Health Centre (SKMHC) site with a sizeable and modernised community health centre (CHC). The reprovisioned centre will address the demand for primary healthcare services in the district.

The HA plans to arrange for a multi-disciplinary team to provide diversified and one-stop primary healthcare services and nursing services at the Shek Kip Mei CHC, including medical consultation services, multi-disciplinary healthcare services, chronic disease management services and patient education and support services, etc.

The scope of the project comprises
(i) demolition of the existing SKMHC at Berwick Street; and
(ii) construction of a new CHC building to accommodate: a CHC (with a GOPC), a chest clinic, a maternal and child health centre, a dermatological clinic, a social hygiene service head office, a public vehicle park and ancillary facilities, including loading/unloading facilities and an ancillary car park.

The project will commence in 2Q 2025 with planned completion by 2030.
