Operating Theatre Block for Tuen Mun Hospital

The extension block will be constructed from building materials of low thermal conductivity to achieve good building thermal insulation and apply renewable energy technologies as far as possible. While building envelope design will help reduce noise transmission, design at "Excellent Class" indoor air quality objectives will be adopted. We will maximize the use of water efficient / conservative appliances (according to "Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme") to reduce water consumption. Various energy efficient designs will also be used such as widely use of natural daylight, sensor lighting control in offices and corridors as well as variable speed control technology, solar hot water system, heat recovery chillers and heat pipes, etc. to reduce the overall building energy consumption.
