New Acute Hospital at Kai Tak Development Area

Hospital Authority arranged consultations with the Kwun Tong District Council (DC), Kowloon City DC and Wong Tai Sin DC on 22 November 2016, 15 December 2016 and 3 January 2017 respectively. Yau Tsim Mong DC was also consulted on 24 November 2016 and 30 March 2017.

On 19 July 2017, Finance Committee of the Legislative Council approved the funding of HK$769.3 million for the preparatory works of New Acute Hospital at Kai Tak Development Area.

Hospital Authority arranged consultations with the Wong Tai Sin District Council (DC) and Kwun Tong DC both on 9 January 2018, Yau Tsim Mong DC on 25 January 2018 andKowloon City DC on 1 February 2018 respectively. Members of these four DCs supported the proposed project.

On 18 May 2018, Finance Committee of the Legislative Council approved the funding of HK$5,356.8 million for the foundation, excavation and lateral support, and basement excavation works of New Acute Hospital at Kai Tak Development Area.

Foundation & Basement Excavation Works Contracts for both Site A and Site B of the project commenced in September 2018. Pile foundation works at Site A are in progress while the pile foundation works at Site B were completed in April 2020. Basement excavation at Site B commenced in July 2020 as scheduled. Concurrently, project team is preparing the detailed design of the Main Building Works of the project.

On 9 July 2021, Finance Committee of the Legislative Council approved the funding of HK$30,441.1 million for the main
works of New Acute Hospital at Kai Tak Development Area.

Foundation & Basement Excavation Works Contract for Site B of the project completed in February 2022. Main Works Contract for Site B commenced subsequently.
